About Pile Cages

Pile cages are structural frameworks made of steel reinforcement bars (rebars). Pile cages are used in the construction of deep foundations, where they provide the necessary reinforcement to support heavy loads and resist tension, compression, and bending forces. These cages help ensure the pile’s durability and stability when it is filled with concrete. Pile cages are critical component in deep foundation systems, providing the necessary reinforcement to support the structure above and ensuring the longevity and stability of the foundation.

The quality of RWAP reinforcing steel meets the Australian Standard and is certified by ACRS.

Piles foundation

Pile foundations are the type of deep foundation used to transfer the load of a structure to deeper, more stable soil or rock layers when the surface soil lacks the necessary bearing capacity. Pile foundations consist of long, slender columns or shafts (known as piles) that are driven, drilled, or bored deep into the ground. Piles extend deep into the ground, often reaching 10 to 50 meters or more, to find a stable stratum capable of supporting the structure. Piles are typically made from materials such as concrete, steel, timber, rebar or composite materials. Pile foundations are essential for ensuring the stability and load-bearing capacity of structures built on weak or unstable soils by transferring the load to deeper, stronger ground layers. They are widely used in large civil engineering projects where safety and durability are paramount.

Supply Pile Cages

The pile cage is fabricated using longitudinal steel reinforcement bars (rebars) tied together with transverse ties or stirrups to form a cylindrical or rectangular cage. This can either be pre-fabricated on-site or delivered in sections and assembled at the construction site. In some cases, additional ties may be used to secure the cage in the pile hole to prevent movement during the concrete pour. The installation of a pile cage is a crucial step in the construction of pile foundations. The process involves drilling the pile bore, fabricating and lowering the reinforcement cage, and pouring concrete to form a strong, reinforced pile. Proper handling, positioning, and bonding between the reinforcement and concrete are essential for the foundation’s integrity and load-bearing capacity. RWAP excels in supplying custom-sized and uniquely shaped piles in Sydney and nearby cities, ensuring the use of top-quality materials for the most robust and enduring projects.
